Yep, committed in the tackle, heart of a lion, patrolled his touchline like a savage beast. Are you sure Hoyte was better
He was no GrĆ©tar Steinsson (who we were supposed to sign as Youngās replacement)Yep, committed in the tackle, heart of a lion, patrolled his touchline like a savage beast.
The perfect blend of Roy Keane and Cafu, his memory shall live on amongst the boro faithful for eons to come.

Yeah, we argued on price. Weād agreed Ā£2.5m they asked for Ā£4m and we bought Hoyte for Ā£3m.. he went to Bolton for Ā£3.5m. GladI still remember that video of him shouting 'rattacaker' or something into the camera, didn't he end up at Bolton?
Aaagh right, like he has been since 1986. Get realBut he really needs to speculate to accumulate not just hang on with his fingers crossed.

Well, if he gets us promoted then I donāt think heāll walk away without another crack at the premiership and stabilizing us in there after one season then walking awayWarnock wonāt be here next season so will be just focused on what he knows and Hel knkw Hel have their commitment this season . Next season wel probably have to sell someone and if itās a good figure itās not the end of the world but promotion would give us the option atleast to keep them all or attract better potentially

I cannot see him walking away from a promotion
So youāre saying Gibbo might sack him if he gets us promoted ?He might not get a choice to be honest
I agree that Steve Gibson would be highly unlikely to do that, but it would probably be the 'best' thing to do from a success perspective. That said, I suspect it's purely hypothetical, as I don't really see us being in the promotion hunt this season (but hope to be wrong about that). So youāre saying Gibbo might sack him if he gets us promoted ?
Gibbo would never do that like. Nope.
Absolutely agree with this. I do wonder if the people who perpetually criticise Boro's recruitment are the same people who want us to sell our better players so we can then go out and buy more players?Unless thereās someone lined up to use that money on immediately then thereās no point as the players could potentially earn us far more money with promotion than any transfer fee just sitting in the bank.
itās no good being āa bit p***edā off with a transfer situation if the player youāve been courting looks elsewhere because youāve suggested he might not get a game at a 2nd division club.
