Very sad news, I knew he was seriously ill but as time went on you sort of forget to keep up with news and he was quite a private man I felt so didn't want to intrude. I think he played the Lindisfarne Festival a few years ago and I thought he might be on the mend. I too have a cherished copy of Border Ballads.

I’ve got that one and the others too. All signed. He was always happy to sit and chat about music over a drink. Lovely lovely man.
