Rio Ferdinand Racially Abused

Before I start I need to say that I know nothing about this, nor do I condone racism. I am purely playing devils advocate!

Why does making a monkey chant towards him have to be automatically seen as racism, how do we know that there isn't a back story? Yes it has 'traditionally' if that you can call it a tradition, to associate the monkey with man of darker skin, but how do we know that it was intended racism toward Ferdinand?

Admin: this looks too much like trolling/fishing. Desist.

I think anyone doing it, whether it’s meant as racism or not, would know it would be taken that way. You just don’t do it. End.

F***ing hell.

I honestly have no wish to turn this thread political, but we're well on the way back to the 70s and it's been headed that way over the last 5 years.
You are right, and the national psyche is driven by the politicians we have and the message they put out. When we have had a decade of people put through misery then convinced by politicians and the press that it's the fault of polish immigrants, or the U, or maybe you should be angry with muslims and health tourists and brown people in dinghies. It all starts to turn the perception of non-white brits into something sinister. It's not happened by accident either, it's a strategy, with scant regard for the damage it causes to non-white Brits, foreigners working and holidaying here, the worlds asylum seekers, or our standing in the rest of the world.

Did you really just type that ****? Unf*(gbelievable.

Wolves fan thrown out for doing monkey chants to Ferdinand whilst Ferdinand was watching the game working for BT.

This really needs to stop. Disgusting.
Can you just confirm that you believe the racism to be disgusting and needs to stop, and not the person (wolves fan) being thrown out of the ground ?

i ask as its ambiguous the way you have typed it out - & i notice on other threads you have no qualms in abusing Jonathon Woodgate. amongst others.

You see, I knew I would get pelters for typing what I did.
What I find equally as disgraceful as racism is that people are willing to jump on their self-righteous soap boxes and start condoning someone when they are presented with very few facts.

Modern society is screwed up!
