Where do we go from here?

Warnock is clearly not the answer. His style of football is out dated plus appalling to watch, and although he appears to have positively impacted a couple of players in the squad the players he has brought in have been incredibly poor, and we look as bad as we did under Pulis.

No idea what we do but we seem to be stuck with him for another season at least and god knows what type of dreadful non footballers he’ll bring in over the next couple of windows.

Utterly dispiriting to be honest.

Where did you expect/predict we'd finish this season?

New keeper. New striker. Keep Tav fit. Couple of new wingers and a midfielder. We'll have made up ten places since Warnock came in at least. Hopefully we can make up a few more.

It's not about results or finish .
It's about useless half hearted plodders .
It's about non football .
It's about not having any footballers .
It's about not stringing 3 passes together .
60 years , dont think I've seen worse .
Barnsley weren't great .
Last season was a lot worse TBF! Imho anyway.

Is anyone still taking this season seriously? What a weird year. As for the Boro any real chance of the play offs went with those awful performances at home to Rotherham and Bristol City.

since then we have been more miss than hit but could you blame any of the players for now just wanting the season to be over and see family if living away from home

We finished 7th under Pulis with an absolute embarrassment of riches at his disposal. From relegation candidates to a comfortable mid table finish is good going in with one season.

being honest about it.. we haven’t scored enough goals, we haven’t scored enough goals!!

if we have a decent goal scorer we would have been top six this season. that’s the long and short of it.

where do we go from here? get the youngsters in form the e rest of the season and make sure we bring the right players this summer.

We are going to stay with NW, I don't think the football will get better but the results just might and that will keep people happy.

I think . . . . 🤔 😭

I think the biggest problem for him at the moment is motivating a team where a lot of the first team know they are leaving. Most of them don't give a flying fook whether we make the play offs or not in fact most of them probably want the season to finish asap so they can go on their hols.

Warnock is not getting a tune from this squad ,
Is it because he has told them they will go ?
Or is it because too many are leaving and are on the beach ?
Neil changed 2 month ago in his enthusiasm and energy, his mood changed and it flowed through to the players. Its as if he gave up on this season then. Why ?
I thank him for stabilising the club , but we have not kicked on since then.
He is leaving in a year , why wait ? Stay long enough to help a new younger manager settle in , (1month )and then the new man can pick his own players for next season.
Players may not sign for Warnock , knowing he is leaving next season .
We are blundering from one calamity to another .
Put a plan in place now , new man , new players .
Do we trust Warnock to get it right ?
Huge doubts arising .

I hoped we'd be able to push for the playoffs, we're short of that.
We're - finally - rid of Monks signings & esp their fat contracts.

Massive rebuild with little money to do it with - fortunately, every other club is in the same boat - so lots of players will be available. With a fitter, hungrier squad I think NW will do ok for us next season.
No real issue with Warnock, squad has been unbalanced for seasons now & his football is pragmatic not dogmatic as it was under Pulis..

Missing out on the playoffs, early - rather than season being dragged out & then possible failing, late - will be better in the long run for us..

We've dipped recently because Tav has been injured. We've also lost first teamers in morsy, fry and djiksteel. We've signed too many players in January, chopped and changed up front too much and dropped a player who was contributing goals and assists. And howson has lost form - too many games for a 32 year old?

The weaknesses inherent in the team were a poor roster of strikers, and creativity too reliant on Tav or crosses coming in from wide areas with a lack of aerial ability up front. Also a poor keeper.

If you add a decent striker to what we had it would improve build up play centrally, provide more goals and a better aerial threat. Add that and a keeper and we are a playoff team.

Add a midfielder and a couple of quality wide creative players and with a bit of better luck from injuries we can challenge near the top.

We've made progress from last season. I don't think that can be argued against. And we've a manager with enough promotions under his belt, including 2 within the last few years, to be confident that he knows what he is doing.

I don't often say this as I think historically we've gone for spending big on goalscorers to the detriment of the midfielders, but an awful lot hinges on the recruitment of a quality striker.
