As soon as I saw the Black Sabbath at the start I automatically read it as Iommi as wellIt's Iommi, with an "i"
Don't forget Purple, Funky. Fantastic band with Jon Lord's heavy keyboards making for a unique sound.Sabbath were one of a handful of bands that changed the face of music - The Beatles, Led Zepplin, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, all these bands emerged in the sixties and all were British - they all influenced countless other bands over the years
They were renowned as a very loud band. Unfortunately never saw them but saw Rainbow a couple of times. Did & Bonnet.Saw them in 73 at Newcastle as well. Nazareth supported and outshone them. They didn't get the sound right, went for extra loud and lost quality with it.
Blackmore hit the spot with Smoke on the Water but a lot of it was a struggle.
Machine Head was on Classic Albums on Sky arts a couple of weeks back. Fabulous album. They were indeed, didn't work at City Hall that night.
Funnily enough, had R6 on tonight and Space Truckin' was played, haven't heard it in years.
