I think admin might need some tools to combine threads. Based on the Johnson threads starting now.

Nevermind.I tried the ignore function & it works.
How do I undo it?
It has now gone back to leaving an error display on my phone browser. Like I posted some time ago. Strange behaviour. Ads not working, then working for a few hours, then not working again. Some good news for you. Further to my earlier bug report. My phone browser is now showing your adverts instead of error displays.
Good for you as you have another user seeing ads on their phone. Not so good for me. But that is life.
Blame DNS. It’s always DNS.It has now gone back to leaving an error display on my phone browser. Like I posted some time ago. Strange behaviour. Ads not working, then working for a few hours, then not working again.
I can now confirm that this bug is related in some way to ignored people. I have just "unignored" all of the people who were on one of the threads that way not showing up correctly. It now appears back in the lists of threads. So this bug is definitely inluenced by ignored members in some way.Evidence of threads "going missing". I think you have some sort of bug (or some strange user error by me that I do not understand).
I mentioned before that the Benidorm/Spain Lock Down thread does not refresh back to the top of the threads list on my front page.
I have just found another thread with the same bug. The paint thread.
I can get to the threads via a search so I can still find them.
Here are the symptoms:
They are missing from my forum "front page" when someone updates the thread. However it is there (temporarily) as the latest thread in the forum list (one level up in the menu hierarchy). Strangely it is missing in the latest posts list on the same page.
Maybe this a more general problem? Or maybe it is user error? Who knows?
Here are a couple of screen dumps showing the problem.

There could be hundreds of other people posted on the thread. So why hide all of that stuff? Just because the person who initiated the thread is on your ignore list.Isn't that just standard ignore list behaviour? Any forum I've used where I've ignored someone I would expect to not see anything by them, I'm surprised on here there is a prompt that someone who has ignored something has made a post.
I understand. I said it is not a bug.Because you’ve ignored them, it won’t make sense without the OP. It’s exactly the same in every forum I’ve used over the years, bar the “show ignored content” bit. If you’re going to see their posts still and just hide their replies, you might as well just not block them and mentally ignore them.
Facebook works the same, if you block someone you will never see their posts, replies etc, it’s as if they do not exist to you.
I have been thinking about this. To make the UI more consistent they had 2 options.I understand. I said it is not a bug.
The issue for me was there were a small number of threads I had an interest in that were slowly going missing. I did not clock the fact that they were started some time ago by someone I had later ignored.
On this board the option is there to show ignored posts in a thread. It even has a prompt. So my reasoning was that you could just use the same method on the first post in a thread. Rather than have different behaviour in this case.
It is the show ignored content option that pops up on here that makes the difference. There is an argument both ways on what you do with a first post.
If there was no show ignored content message on here I would agree with you.
User interface design sometimes includes consistency of response. There is an inconsistency in this case. Where I think there is no right answer.
