Pulis sacked

Sorry I should have said monk would have got to the playoffs in my opinion

he seemed to be fumbling his way there anyway
Well personally I didn’t think so. The morning of that Sheffield Wednesday game I was expected nothing but a defeat, and then we went a goal behind. Did well to turn it around and the timing of that sacking was strange too, but I wouldn’t say Monk had us headed for the play offs personally.

No Marv, I don’t think a single person is suggesting he is doing well, but questioning the timing the night before a game, over Christmas, and questioning why they gave him a 2.5 year deal. So park your next Pulis argument for another day.😬
Totally agree giving him a 2.5 year deal was ludicrous. But the sacking a surprise? Given their form? Their performances? The fans unrest? I could go on.

The owner/chairman is clearly an idiot and isn’t well liked. But he’s only correcting yet another mistake he has made.

It’s only correcting a mistake if they bring in someone who does any better. They weren’t doing well before Pulis, they didn’t do well under him, there are no guarantees the next guy will do any better especially if it’s true that there is no money.

I’m just glad we don’t have an owner like that.

They were doing better before they brought in Pulis - albeit not really good enough with the money they spent.

1 win in 10 and staring at league 1? I can’t say I’m surprised they’ve taken another gamble neither.

Their next managerial appointment could prove to be a big one.

Well it definitely will be a big one, I wonder how long a contract they give them. I’d have my agent on the phone to them right now if I was qualified.

Well we had Bolton next and I think mink would have won that and we were 6th I believe after that game. He was finding he feet in my opinion

the sacking came because he lied to Gibson, we know Gibson gives time, it’s been said monk was a snake re Swansea and that’s why the trigger was pulled

Their owners must be desperate to play in the 3rd division, he’d of kept them up one way or another . It will take new ownership to bring them back to life .
Not by winning one in ten games. No new manager bounce in sight. Performance under Pulis have been worse than under Monk. Dinosaurs had his day. Chairman looks like a walking calamity also. Nearly as bad as Gibbo - some would have you believe.;)

If it’s Thompson you can be sure they are completely skint.

4 points in his last 2 games. Why not sack him when they had won zero in 8.

You know what you're getting when you employ Pulis, the fans arent going to enjoy the football, youre going to have a team of big centre backs and forwards. He's going to grind out results.

Sheff wed are a shambles, I hope they sort it out because I have always liked them as a club.

The club statement was very cryptic. Hinting at other things not just results.
From twitter the consensus amongst Wednesday fans is he has told the owner (who is a bit of a character) some home truths and paid the price or walked away. Who knows.

Wasting your time. Marv is obsessive in his hatred for Pulis, to the point where the decade of relative success Pulis achieved at various clubs counts for nothing.

Club deducted points at the start of the season, awful start to the season, poor squad, players not being paid, rock bottom morale at the club, no chance to bring in players.

I’m not surprised it didn’t go well.

Hopefully they follow the same Monk, Pulis, Woody pattern as us and Woody is appointment manager before kick off tonight.

I can guarantee you Marv is no more obsessed with his contempt for pulis than I.

I forecast that we would beat them in the last match of this year to get him the sack.
He didn't even make that, the poisonous, odious, double headed, lieing, self serving scumbag.
Their play is appalling, the fan base is disengaged, the results are worse under him.

pulis is a throwback, a species thankfully nearing extinction and shortly to be a relic.
I wouldn't wish him on any group of fans - not even Sunderland.

I was genuinely stunned when he got the Wednesday job as I though he was done then.
I hope his career of winning absolutely nothing is stone dead now.
Another comeback would be as incredible as that of Lazarus.

Wednesday are a good club with proper fans and I sincerely hope they stay up now.
I fear the players may just rally tonight; I hope their recovery starts from tomorrow.

Three games ago they were 7 points from safety. (Actually worse off than on day one of this season (once the points were reduced to -6))! They are now only one win (3 points) from moving out of the bottom three... so definitely slightly strange timing.

I reckon there must have been some sort of argument.

and yet only Aitor Karanka had a better win ratio than him here?

You say all this yet when I look at their forum it’s a different story to the rabid Pulis haters:

“Dejphon Chansiri get out of my club.”

“FFS pulis told chansiri some home truths I reckon”

“Your right, but imo we are the worst, most unbalanced side in the division, and people expecting major signings are deluded,Pulis was no worse than Monk, and imo only Bruce,if sacked could keep us up,I still believe Pulis would have but will never know...”

“We are a laughing stock and that breaks my heart. The consensus of this thread is that DC has run the club into the ground and we are f00ked. Sadly I have to agree.”

“I really hope Tony is allowed to say what has gone on.”

“I'm surprised Pulis has been sacked, he made the fatal error of winning a game and then drawing one. It seems that seals your fate as a manager at Hillsborough.”

“Chansiri can't handle someone standing up to him, threw the toys out of the pram and fired TP. He has turned the club into a joke and no self respecting manager will come now. The sooner he is gone the better.”

Always amusing to see the lengths Pog will go to defend Pulis. Even giving Aitor some credit now to do so. My.

Yet I always referred to Karanka as a world class defensive coach?

That part seemed to always get forgotten, as with just about everything on the internet you have to be either extreme for or against something / someone.

Well you have certainly always been extremely for clueless pulis.

Yea but he’s doing worse than monk did
4 Pts from the last 2 games some may feel their were on the up .
You can look at the stats from what ever way you want but I doubt form is the real reason he’s been sacked from a club that’s failed to pay their players on time twice this year . Pulis is probably one of the main names you would think of to keep a side up .

“Extreme”🤣

My views on Pulis are purely grounded in facts and reality, something far too many Boro fans become detached from in their blind hatred of a bloke they’ve never met and had no idea of anything that was happening at the club when he was here.

The same people have now found themselves using a decision made by Dejphon Chansiri as proof that they must have been right all along. I mean, he sounds like a stand-up guy...
