I remember that so well. Personally I also remember when I had to pay 50p for three pints for the first time. Id only just started going to pubs legally.I can remember my Dad fuming when he couldn't get 4 gallons for a £1 !

It's a typo should be 1.24£1.23.9 today at Whitby Sainsbury's Simon.
This has always intrigued me, but am I the only person who doesn't have a clue how much a gallon / liter of petrol is ?

It was 6s 4d in the 60s. Three gallons to a pound.
1s 8d a pint, 32s for an LP, 2s for cod and chips (2s 3d for hake).
