It's well documented that he's had alcohol and drug dependency issues.
It's not speculation.

He was being treated for alcohol withdrawal in the weeks before his death, and heavy cocaine use over years will lead to heart issues.

A sad day for football

Diego Like Senna was A true icon for his nation. Its difficult for us to truly appreciate just how big he was in argentina possibly second only to evita.

An incredible talent arguably the greatest our sport has ever seen. A street fighter in every sense of the word.

He led his country to the pinnacle of the game with a mix of the sublime and the sinister. But like him or not no one could deny his god given talent.

His low centre of gravity gave him almost supernatural ability over the ball.

He was a flawed genius yes

But a genius nonetheless
