What's the point in shutting pubs and restaurants, if the kids are allowed to pass them on the way to school?I don’t know anyone keeping their kids off school. What would be the point? They break up soon anyway. Then the fun starts. As well as being the Bank of Mum and Dad we then adopt the rôle of child care experts.
No as she and none of us have ANY of the symptoms of the virus. Temperatures are normal, no cough no nothing. Kids get coughs, last for a day and disappear. My eldest (who is 3 going on 30) says she feels great and doesn't even realize she has an occasional cough. It isn't constant. Is your whole family self-isolating for 14 days now?
I think that's the advice but I'm not sure most will follow it.
She's literally coughed 5 times in total since she woke up this morning at 6am.You mentioned cough and we've been told either a new cough or high temperature are the trigger for self isolation. I agree that most wouldn't self-isolate under these circumstances but that exposes the difficulty of the policy.
Daft thing about that is all the parents are meeting outside school at opening/closing time, may as well have met in the pub.My Mrs is a primary school headteacher and her attendance rate has been 92% for pupils this week, although she’s been speaking to other heads and the lowest is around 65%. They are getting no additional guidance from the Government beyond that schools must remain open, if teachers are ill then supply teachers will be brought in to cover as under no circumstances can the schools close. The school is set up for distance learning and pupils that are off are being educated by that medium.
