Most havent clue how big these things are or what they consist of or that the land for a mile or so just behind sbco will take 5 years remove decades of toxic mire. The full complex would cost national debt to clean up.
Gotta start somewhere.
Get the Blast Furnace down and flog the scrap before it turns to a bucket if rust.
I’m 100% sure you are right about cost though.
And 100% sure that that is why this ridiculous idea about Steel museum’s are being mooted.
Its the same as the Oil companies offshore, not wanting to pull in old rigs and dismantle them.
Saying we should be leaving them for fish to swim around.
Its the Money , they don’t give a monkey’s about the environment.
I’m Half expecting that the Steelworks will be designated a seagull’s nesting site comparable to Holy Island next.
I shouldn’t be giving them idea’s.
