136 games for the Boro. Well before my time but remember my grandad saying he was a very good player. Any memories of him?
And mine. RIP Dickie.Dickie was Boro CH in my 1st season 68/69 RIP Dickie
I don't want to derail the thread but were you at Great Yarmouth in about 1967-ish?I've told this before but somewhere in my house is an autograph book with one Jimmy Clitheroe signature and one Donald Peers signature in it on the front page.
He was and it was my first ever game too as I said on tiger other thread. Mentioned his amazing hat trick v Cardiff was on a losing side as we got relegated.I believe the first Boro player to score on MoTD! RIP Dickie
I'll derail it slightly for you Capy. Nothing to do with Boro, but I worked in a seafront restaurant in Gt. Yarmouth during the summer holidays in 1967. I hope you were fortunate enough not to eat there.I don't want to derail the thread but were you at Great Yarmouth in about 1967-ish?
Was that away to Blackpool? I remember knowing that we were on MotD and wondered if we'd get home on the bus in time to see it. No VCR's back then IIRC.I believe the first Boro player to score on MoTD! RIP Dickie
Not much more hair IIRC !and I suppose the nearest we've had in recent years would be Matt Clarke with hair
