The time to invest was last summer on the back of a good season. We had the best player in the Championship, you give him the wages he was worth to have another go at getting us up. We could have signed Giles, but we wouldn't pay the wages he was arguably worth. We allegedly had the money to sign Archer at one point so why not sign him last summer?
This new model isn't some radical method of gaining promotion, its a financial mission and any success relies on getting very, very lucky and finding players who can excel in the one season before we cash in on them.
