The King has cancer

Think you're being a bit unfair there N_C.

Mart's first post wished Charles well. 👇
...and to just elaborate I also agreed his human rights mean that he should be able to deal with this in private.

But if he chooses to make it public, and take the pat on the back for "awareness" then my issue is that a lot more people would get help if he had simply waived his inheritance tax avoidance. At a very, very conservative estimate that equates to 1/4 billion, but in reality is 10x or 20x times that due to the trust status of various assets.

Even that 1/4 billion would have made real differences in saving lives, far more than this momentary screening increase, that's a fact.

Didnt some wanna-be Nostradamus predict that King Charles III wouldnt have the crown for long? Not a good sign for Charlie. For his kids and grandkids, I hope he pulls through.

Bad disease. Took my dad at only 45, and an uncle a few years later. I have to get checked every so often, as I'm at risk. Wish him well.

He’s no different to any other human being. It’s sad for him and his family. My dad has had a year from hell with cancer. That is sad for me and my family.
I can see what you mean Frankie, it has a big effect not just on the person but the family too. Its a tough time and you cant see any happiness until they are through it. I hope and wish your dad gets well. I've just got the all clear, but I know how tough it was on my family and how much of a difference life is when things are normal.

As a fellow human being I wish him well and hope he makes a full recovery.

But he's a lucky man. He's getting seen to less than 2 weeks after diagnosis and he's a Billionaire.
The NHS target for treatment is 9 weeks and many don't get that. And end up broke with many getting into further debt.

They have had a god awful few years. I wish him all the best.

He has been diagnosed early and will have second to none health care. I can only imagine what 'names' they will bring in for his treatment.

It's not so easy for us average Joe's. I'd probably be still waiting to see a GP. I'd infact be probably still be on the phone trying to speak to an actual receptionist😕

Getting a bit tedious with the wall to wall coverage now. Does anyone really care that Harry has popped in? Or that William is starting ’work’ again today?

I wish Charles well but how long will this coverage last?

3rd story on the sky news website and no live updates, which other stories have (and this did yesterday) so I think you can relax abit now

It's like living in a mini f*((n North Korea sometimes, wall to wall nonsense about some exulted leader, with his special status and label being told this is important to our lives and the very fabric of the country is intertwined with his health when it simply isn't. It's not even in the top 20 things that threaten the fabric of our lives.

Every school and council building with his approved photo on the wall, big celebratory affairs to crown them, character assassinations of anyone that has an issue with them. it's all just uber-sycophantic and barf-worthy and what the actual f*(k is wrong with people buying into this nonsense still, the information is out there and easily available about the way this family have horded wealth, do very little in the way of actual work, have a pretty shoddy record in the way they treat people that work for them, steal money of dead people, manipulate government for their own agenda, have bills re-written before they are allowed to go to parliament, I mean ok, it's not actually as extreme as North Korea, but it's the same ballpark in terms of corruption, entitlement, theft and PR.

I share your sense of bemusement (is that a word?) Sometimes you just have to accept we are the odd ones out, the minority, and have little choice but to put up with it - apart from being chastised for the occasional little 'out of place' moan. We live in a deeply conservative society. Best wishes to ALL those suffering in ANY way.

Think you need to calm down abit, noticed you keep posting and posting anti monarchy comments on here. The thread was about Charles having cancer.. start a thread stating how anti monarchy you are if you wish, instead of derailing this.

Thanks
I'm perfectly calm if that's aimed at me, and I'm free to say what I want, feel free to ignore if it offends.

Yes it was and I am also free to state what I did, seemingly others agree. I won't ignore someone derailing a thread which was solely about someone having a cancer, the rant you have posted above reflects nothing about the initial concept of the thread except your anti monarchy beliefs, which you could see have been inching out post by post until full explosion

'explosion', erm, didn't happen. Threads, meander, it's what they do. My comment was primarily about the amount of coverage this is getting, which is why we are all commenting on it still. It's a key part of this story and doesn't necessarily need it's own thread. There are plenty that have agreed this coverage is ludicrous too.

But thanks for proving one of my points 'character assassinations of anyone that has an issue with them', personalising it by calling me out and telling me lots of others agree, rather than actually addressing the point of how ludicrous the coverage has been, you really couldn't have given a clearer example of my point.

Your post had 10 lines, 3 about coverage and then a new 7 line paragraph ranting on.... so I would disagree it was primarily about the coverage, which as I also posted has subsided since yesterday, really no need to get so worked up about it.

The key part of the story was someone being diagnosed with cancer, the coverage is secondary and if you can't turn onto one of the 100's of channels that aren't 24 hour news channels then I think your looking to be offended, you won't miss homes under the hammer anytime soon because of it.

Anyway all the best to Charles. Shall leave it there, hopefully others can too.

Like I said, you've just proven how any straying from the narrative is a personalised attack. Following it with hypocrisy about my offence, when you are the one being offended at my comments and then personalising attacks is not uncommon when challenging the status quo, in my experience.

By the way, line counting, you do realise that line length changes depending on the width of your window? 10 lines to you is 5 lines to me. Pot-ay-toe, Poe-tar-toe

This thread exists because of the media coverage, it's part of the story, no ranting or getting worked, just amusement at how you are proving me right.

Good luck to him in his health battle, but jees, lets hope the wall to wall coverage will end soon, let him get on with his battle in private now.

You have some issues if you think your being attacked. You come on a thread about someone with cancer and started with your anti monarchist views..... clearly posted above as pointed out. I didn't say "lots of other agree" stop misquoting me, I said "seemingly others agree" given that the post I was referencing had been like by others.

You haven't had your character assassinated, or attacked. You came on a thread about someone with cancer spouting anti monarchist views, chipping away until you went all out. You stated it was your right to post it and I am free to ignore. I said it was my right to call you out on it... if your going to air your views, they are free to be ridiculed, as I seen you post elsewhere on this forum. If you think that, are you not attacking other posters or character assassinating them? Or is that a different ball game when you pull others up?

Posted twice already the wall to wall coverage has stopped, not sure why you keep mentioning it.

Have a good day.
