I agree! But clearly I need to work harder on my sarcastic replies!
No that wasn’t aimed at you. I could tell that was sarcastic. Was just a general comment in response to the OP of this thread and some comments on the match thread. I may have given Clarke a bit of criticism myself on that thread but in reality tonight isn’t about individuals.

Got outclassed by a team worth millions and millions more than ours and that’s that. Let’s move on.

A game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge has no bearing on what they are and aren't good enough to do in the Championship.

People need to get it out of their heads that pace is everything. It's not FIFA.

Completely agree with the first half of that , disagree strongly about the 2nd half of your post.

Pace , or more over a lack of it , means you struggle to relieve any pressure OTHER than possession based.
Forwards with Pace forces full backs ( especially ) to be more mindful. A lack of pace at centre half means full backs have to be more cautious, and your defensive line needs to be deeper.
Going long at times , into the channels or over the top, gives you an outlet other than HAVING to intricately pass it out.

If it wasn't relevant, why was Jones such a big miss... Both tonight , or more relevantly against Rotherham?

I never said it wasn't relevant, I said it wasn't everything.

As someone said on here recently, Thiago Silva has never really been especially quick, and he's even less quick now at nearly 40, and he's still playing for a team like Chelsea because his awareness, positioning, ability to read the game, among other things are exceptional, and we don't even need exceptional.

There's plenty of pace around him , which has definitely helped him out for the last 5 years 😄

It may not be everything I agree, but without it we're very very predictable. As Rotherham showed.
