Villa bid for Morgan Rogers

He has done well, played initially out of position in a struggling team. The recent accounts published today show that this is what we need to do in the Championship.

Excellent work by the recruitment team and as others have said it’s the model we are now operating.

I had anticipated that RVDB may be gone next summer and no doubt teams will be monitoring him closely.

It may mean we can keep hold of Hackney longer if he goes. If he does go I hope he does really well there.
 
Hey its football, Morgan has definitely got talent and someone at villa has noticed his potential too.

He will definitely want to go there and I can't blame him, he should trust himself to be able to adapt and get in the team due to Ramsey new injury.

Boro just need to be smart and get the best possible transfer fee if it is to happen, it will no doubt allow us to do other business!

As others have suggested everyone has a price!

Surely it impacts our squad the “ model” is only good if if benefits the club.

Btw this isn’t about Rogers perse it’s the fact that it shouts shot termism.

He's potentially a much better player than Ramsey. He's quicker, stronger and creates more chances than Ramsey does. I've said from the first time I watched him play live away to Coventry in August that he's going to be an excellent player.

Well, yes. We can get the pick of the best prospects who are on their way to the top.

I agree 4 months is mad, but Rogers isn't irreplaceable. We can reinvest in a striker while having plenty of options in Rogers' position.

Why not sell them all and go down make a tidy sum then.

What happened to Sporting glory

As I say not about Rogers but that’s a very worrying precedent.

Players leaving after one season is bad enough but now they don’t even last the winter.
 
We need to think about our reputation - not just for developing and improving players, but also “playing ball” when premier league bids do come in for players.


It’s definitely something that the agents of these young players will be aware of

Sorry I don’t like it I’ll but I’ll never understand why fans want our players to join another club, but that’s me.
 
I suppose Brighton do it at a different level. We are well stocked I suppose but we do have to take their eyes out.

If it’s a great financial business club it’s great news. He has done well, he is a good player but he hasn’t been outstanding.

Great work by the recruitment team.

This is partly why the coach and the style of football we play is so important. We essentially try and build from the back, on the floor and on the front foot, and play in the image of the very best teams. Which means those teams are more likely to loan out their most coveted youngsters to us because they’ll play in a system that suits them, preparing them for when they return to their parent clubs.

This is just the ‘model’ in action, as has been said. It’s for the best we don’t get too attached to some of these young players I suppose.

Unless you’re on of those established ‘big six’ clubs, it’s actually best to just broadly accept your place in the football ecosystem and build being picked off for players into your business model.
