Heating On

Refuse to put it on in October .. think I got to Nov 15th last year .. Told our lass to stick a jumper on as I'm gonna beat last years number ..

Temps need to drop a few degrees before I stick the heating on. I just bought an electric clothes drier and might put that on first as it costs around 9p an hour 😀. Bills from EDF are a pishtake. I am £450 in credit and they have reduced my DD. Great but, they estimated my energy use for the next six months and then divided it by six, not taking into accounts the £450!!! So they are just hanging onto it just in case and for safekeep I assume 🧐

Put it on last night when we came in to take the chill off the house. Only on just over half an hour and it was 90p. That does not sound much but if I was to work if out over a quarterly bill it would be huge when it get colder and the heating is on more.

Does everyone set theirs at a steady temp for the full 24 hours or to come on and off during the day.

Never know which is right!

I have Hive TRVs on every radiator and set it fairly low as the residual heat keeps on heating for an hour ish. We are both home all day everyday and don't want to be cold in my own home. I wear a fleece and if we go out, the heating automatically goes off.

Thank god we have £800 credit with Eon!

Our radiators were a bit warm when I got up at 6:30 this morning and we have the thermostat set at 15. So it must have been very nippy last night. This didnt happen till November last year.

I left the house at 5:30am and car was showing 0.5deg although no frost.

Been really unlucky to get a six night spell in mid Oct where the overnights have gone as low as near freezing. Last years Oct was a very mild decline and winter temps didn't hit until Nov15th ish even then it wasn't immediately zero overnight - that took a few more weeks to come in.
