Michael Carrick confirms that Lewis O'Brien requires surgery on his ankle/lower leg and will be out for 2-3 months.

Gutted for the lad.. gutted.

FFS. Best signing of the summer - came in without any recent history of injuries and this happens.

Not as bad as Matt Clarke's injury, but again he was another player who looked good for 40 games a season until we signed him up!

Hopefully closer to 2 than 3 months. If he’s back around the time of Ipswich at home, he might only miss 10 games and could be match fit for the second half of the season.

He was on crutches leaving Vicarage Rd. the tackle was horrendous. A two footed scissor tackle which should have been a straight red. Instead the ref gave them a throw in.

Jeez, I would have thought more than three months for that. I was unable to run for a lot longer when I broke my fibula. Ligament damage takes even longer to heal than the bone.

Absolute gutter this, losing such a versatile quality championship player. Arguably our best outfield signing lost to a broken leg and ankle damage caused by a deliberate and rash challenge imho. Langford totally bottled it.

Yes I tore ankle ligaments a few years back and it took 6 months before I played again. Obviously they have all the best medical facilities to heal it quicker than that
