Last season, for a rookie manager he hit lucky (no disrespect to him). Having Chuba have an unbelievable career season, the emergence of Hackney then having Archer and Ramsey come in and hit the ground running......
May have been better for him - and definitely reigning in the fans expectations - if we had a good, solid season then went from there. Expectations this season were huge, but losing the players we did it has become very apparent that we will struggle to hit last season's performances.
No pressure on Carrick from me, just think this season is going to be full of ups and downs. Need to show definite progression though. Performances like QPR in March won't be good
No, it's nothing to do with his tactics/ set up etc.If you make decisions that work on a consistent basis then that isn’t luck.
By your reasoning you could say that Sir Alex Ferguson was a lucky manager.

My point is he was lucky to step into Boro, October 22, and inherent Akpom in the form of his life, Hackney who has been a revelation etc.
If he stepped into Boro Oct 23, he wouldn't have as good a squad to work with. And results would be very different. As is showing
Alex Ferguson inherited a bang average Man U team and it took him 4?5? years to turn it around so not sure where that's come from
