Isaac Hayden

For what it is worth, I saw this name Isaac Hayden, written on a journalists list of possible questions to ask at yesterday's press conference.
And was the question posed?

There's clearly some interest, which surprises me a little, given his age and injury concerns.

I can only see it a a loan, but we are reportedly only looking at permanent deals.

contracted until 2026, unregistered.. they clearly want rid. £50k a week.. £7.5m in wages alone.

£20k a week for a player with a £3m transfer fee will get you to £6m

£30k a week from Newcastle for 3 years will only cost them £1.5m.. I could see that happening tbh

'Free Transfer' and a 3 year deal on £20k a week wages..

Lewis O'Brien will cost £10m in transfer fee alone.

I think Norwich paid £600k to loan him last season (not sure much of his salary they picked up), so using that figure and the fact he's got 3 years on his contract left, you're looking at a couple million to sign him.

Then add his fitness issues and the salary and everything that goes with a transfer these days and is an expensive deal for a player who is likely to be worth nothing when the contract you give him is up.

Like I said, I'd be surprised if it was anything but a loan deal.

£600k might have been the wages? Newcastle we’re paying around 2/3rds of his wages apparently.

Not sure, reading between the lines we won't loan players this season, but even if the club has a philosophy against loans, i would imagine there is still
room for manouvre within the clubs heirarchy and philosophy that one loan player won't upset the apple cart in that regard too much

If it is the case were looking at him, as an obvious back up or support to Howson, then we will be simply playing the market until the end of the window
to reduce the financial outlay, the longer it goes, newcastle will be more and more open to a lesser contribution of his wages, thats just reality

Ffs gazzumped by a side that’ll be chasing a record low points total. He’ll be a good signing for them, but they’re not going to score more than about 20 goals are they? So it’ll make zero difference

Not bothered about this one in the slightest.

If he's struggling to keep fit in the PL reckon he would have little chance in the Championship playing a load of midweek games as well.

Next ...... hopefully.......🙄
