How do you pronounce Middlesbrough?

I say Middlesbru and "The Burra"
Living on the north side of the Tees, the locals say Middlesburra and "The Borra"
My friends wife, from down south says Middlesbro

I think I say it as the OP, Middlesbru and Burra. If I do it's probably because I come from out in the sticks ( East Cleveland) and have maybe copied Burra lads when I went to the matches in my early teens.

Stockton lad, I vary between Burra and Borra but deffo Middlesbruh (that last syllable is more of an exhaled grunt than a true verbalisation)

it's funny how it can be noticably different from one side of the river to the other.
A Geordie mate of mine once said "It's hard to pin your accent down - it's like a mix of North East, Yorkshire and Scouse" - and that sounded about right to me
