Payero?

From July to end Oct 22 he did get 14 good appearances in league and cup and scored 1 goal , no injuries
Nov to end of Jan is their break ( 3 months off )
Feb 23 to now 13 appearances , 4 goals but does seem to have a niggle injury with abductors keeping him out a couple of games on the run twice
So he's coming back already up to speed fitness wise, am sure our medical team can assess this abductor thing.
He's coming back to only about 8 players he might be familiar with from when he left, plus our new coaching staff
Who knows , but Carrick will have a full preseason to assess so in him we trust.

He might come back and see what the new set up feels like before deciding with the club what to do. He’s contracted here and doesn’t seem the type to throw his toys out to get his own way. He might feel hard done by and want to prove past boro mangers wrong.

The majority of us on here , probably all, would of happily got shot of Chuba and HH before the start last season. A change of manager and tactics can make a player who previously looked like a fish up a tree be an effective team member.

Payero was never gonna shine in a Warnock team with his antiquated tactics, nor under wilder with his fascination with the ready made pros and attitude over abiliteh.

Thought Payero showed a lot of promise leading up to his injury here but does sound like niggling injuries continue. Could see him being another Didier Digard, there is talent there but just too fragile

His last game for the U23s V Wolves was the end for me ... He was very very uninterested and lacked any professional nounce . It was a year ago so hopefully his attitude to earning a decent living in the game has changed..

Boca are considering a permeant move.. but don't want to pay however much we are asking.. then there's talk of a £10m move to Atlanta or Man Utd.. weird.

No chance either of those two, or any other European team has watched him this season and said "We want him. He's our man. £10m on the table. Have our eyes out." Agent talk. If he had had a great season, we'd all know about it, like when Spence had a good season and all the pundits questioned why we had let him go out on loan.

My guess is he will end up at Boca for slightly less than we wanted for him.. obviously the dream is for him to come back and smash it under Carrick

Payero has quality and would be great in the current set up. He was a fringe Argentina player not long ago and if there’s any chance of him coming back the club will be doing whatever they can. It might just be too late unfortunately.
