Anna Turley

She's not been selected yet, I suspect she will win selection, I hope she does- she's an impressive candidate and was an excellent MP last time, but it will be Redcar members that will decide.

Oh has she not? I just assumed she had. Will adjust my OP slightly.

It’s likely she will. She’ll have my vote, as she did in the last GE.

It could do, there was plenty who voted Conservative just to get rid of her. Let's pray it doesn't happen again.
I think there’s plenty that would do it again..

Here she is claiming Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ is steeped in anti semitism and promotes anti semitic tropes.. a very dangerous position to take in my opinion.. although it does seem to be an increasingly popular one.

Part of the Labour coup and the WhatsApp ‘Birthday Group’ group.. didn’t seem to support her party, her leader, her membership or indeed her constituents.

Very much of the now and in with the clique of the Starmer brand of Labour Party politicians. Career politicians, very keen to support Conservative policy and throw around claims of AS.

Maybe now the Brexit mirage has evaporated common sense and decency will prevail.

Surely?
Because of Brexit and her support of a second referendum, more than anything.

Something that wil play no part in the election this time.
Was it all to do with Brexit, I know she had issues with Corbyn but I seem to think there was something else.

I think there’s plenty that would do it again..

Labour don't need to be a 'Friends of Israel' party with everything else excluded.

That's not the way to go, as the Jewish Voice for Labour might say.

This, amongst a bunch of other things, is why I won't vote Labour if Anna is the candidate.

She wouldn't even care about Redcar if she'd managed to secure the South Durham(?) seat she originally went for.

I'm happy to accept shes grown to love the place - who wouldn't? But she doesn't deserve to be an MP. She did nothing to try and prevent a local Brexit vote and then blamed Corbyn. Then she acted against the leadership during the last election.

If that's okay with other people then so be it. I'm sure she'll be better than the incumbent but I can't think of many people who would be worse which is hardly a ringing endorsement.

Wasn't she slow to react towards the steelworks closure or am I wrong on this?

The tories won with a 3500 majority and an 18% swing, surely that wasn’t all down to Brexit? Backlash from the steelworks? I don’t know Anna although feels risky to me, be like bringing Karanka back for a second spell.

Then Jacob Young is the person for you then... Because it's either Tory or Labour that will win this seat.
