Mayor Andy Preston

Andy Preston paid his political assistant £32k from council funds illegally. No records of what this guy did for the £32k has ever been declared.
If it's true and he continues to pay him from his own pocket, then who ever it is not an employee in the council and therefor no authority to work within it.

He claims that since November he noticed how bad a position he has got the council in so decided to act, I find that very odd- as we have been telling him for years, and even the councils auditors told him more then 12 months ago and qualified the accounts as well as threatening him with putting the council in special measures.

The same guy has spent more than £1m of our councils funds on buildings that will never ever get built; and accountancy/consultancy fees that should never had happened, all due to incompetence.

This guy is a multi-millionaire, guess he can afford it, sadly the residents of our town can't afford him even if he come for free.

Nothing says integrity and independence in public service than a boss paying his own underlings.

Populists are dangerous.

don't see what is embarrassing about it? He's responding to a post. I'd rather have views of people working in the system than just hearsay.

Given the mayor, and many of his fellow Conservatives (I know he claims to be independent) conduct most of their PR / lie dissemination via social media, then I'd say it's a perfectly suitable forum to counter their claims.

We got a big glossy a3 size pamphlet from Matt Vickers last week, one of the photos was him and 2 prospective councillors stood next to one of the defib boxes. The text basically thanking the group involved in installing them. They have had no involvement with that group, so it's a bizarre one to put in the pamphlet but the obvious inference is to make it look like it'd something they have delivered.

I hate all the politicking that goes on around election time but if that's the level of barrel you need to scrape to make it look like you've done things it's fairly telling, and people should be held to account when they fib.

I remember Vickers and houchen being photographed at the Ingleby leisure centre in previous leaflets - they voted against it 😂

I've no idea, but then I don't get involved with what's going on in Stockton.
