What’s your point sorry? When I was a kid / primary school age, I went to maybe 3 or 4 games a season. I knew money was tight and it was a real treat.
It’s nothing to do with “not my problem”.

Someone clearly out of touch with reality for a lot of working class people. £500 each minimum for one person to attend 23 games a year won’t be possible for most, especially when it’s well over £1k to be taking kids, close to 1.5/£2k a year for a family to goIs it though? I think a season ticket works out at about £35 a month. Or a quid a day.
If you’re working class, you’re working, and you can afford a quid a day.
If it’s the up front cost that’s the issue, put a quid a day in a jar and hey presto you’ve got a ST next season. It’s called budgeting and actually saving up for nice things in life you really want.
Were not talking about life's necessities or essentials here, I've not heard anyone say these should not be provided for. We are talking about an optional extra like many other optional extras in life, some we can afford and some we can't, I agree it would be great if everyone could afford to do everything they like doing, but unfortunately that's no the case and I guess in one way or another we all make choices about what we can afford to do or buy.I don’t go too often, I go when I can afford to. I don’t expect anything for free and I’ve always loved the match.
I appreciate SG, although I certainly don’t think he’s a king. He’s made some whopping bad decisions over the years financially and ultimate it’s his choice to finance the club.
Of course I appreciate it, without it we possibly wouldn’t even be here. And definitely not competing for a place in the top flight more often than not.
My questions is how can you rationalise all this just because it’s alright for you lot?
‘That’s life. Not my problem attitude’
I can afford to eat without begging - doesn’t mean I look down at those who can’t and say ‘ah well, that’s life. Go to the politician if you want change. Save up and have a bite next week pal.’
Honestly it’s the attitude that is horrible. Hearts of stone the lot of yous.
Because you don’t it’s bloomin clear as dayNot sure why you think I don’t care about those less fortunate than myself? You don’t know me. Football isn’t an essential it is a nice to have.
Best football the club has played in probably 20 years and we still have thousands of empty seats. What does that tell you about our prices? We have had big crowds all season
Maybe people like this who condone it are the reason why the club keep putting the prices up. It makes them feel like its acceptable. You are wasting your time trying to discuss it with him, he's got his blinkers on and the club can do no wrong in his eyes.
But that’s my point. Enough resources in the world to go around yet millions go without because we justify it all the time. Pees me right off as you can seeWe are

Please demonstrate how that’s the case?Because you don’t it’s bloomin clear as day
Childish response.Could have should have, the price is right for as long as people are willing to pay.
You have shown throughout this thread you don't care about your fellow supporters. You have indicated that you can afford it and others should budget better to be able to afford it.Not sure why you think I don’t care about those less fortunate than myself? You don’t know me. We’ve had empty seats most weeks since 1998, I’m not sure what that proves?Best football the club has played in probably 20 years and we still have thousands of empty seats. What does that tell you about our prices?

Yes i understand and agree perhaps that belongs in the Jeremy Corybyn thread, for the many not the few, but look how people reacted to the offer of a more fairer and equal society and look what we ended up with. But that’s my point. Probably that tickets are too expensive for the area? We’ve had empty seats most weeks since 1998, I’m not sure what that proves?
You don’t know my finances and what I prioritise, I make sacrifices so I can watch MFC..
Childish response.

You sound no better than Simon Clarke.
You’ve been demonstrating it. Anyone who recons that you should just go without for a year and save up, front the money for a ST, give the politician a shout - all the while it’s no dramas cos they can afford to go. Plus all your justifications about ‘it’s worth what you’re willing to pay’ , we have good attendances .Please demonstrate how that’s the case?
Or we just don’t have the fanbase to sell out every week.Probably that tickets are too expensive for the area?
You don’t know my financial, work, life situation. If I can’t afford something that isn’t essential I don’t do it however painful that may be.You’ve been demonstrating it. I wonder how you’d feel if you couldn’t afford it anymore. Recon you’d change your tune then wouldn’t you
The cheapest season tickets are over £500 each so more than £1k for 2 adults and that’s before travel, parking, food, drink. How many working class families will realistically be able to afford that at the moment? Why would anyone be paying walk up prices to attend every single home game?? They would get a season ticket.
Regarding taking kids, doesn’t the family zone have offers on for this with heavily subsidised / free kids ticket with a paying adult?
As if we’ve ever taken true steps for a fairer society and as if Corbyn was the man to do that anyway!Yes i understand and agree perhaps that belongs in the Jeremy Corybyn thread, for the many not the few, but look how people reacted to the offer of a more fairer and equal society and look what we ended up with.
