The game if the working class is pricing out the working class
Again, this is spot on. You do what you can afford.Well, you go to a couple of matches a season as a treat. Go to however many you can afford or budget for. It’s not a god given right for anyone to go to dozens of championship level football matches a year.
Should holidays be cheaper so everyone can get their annual trip to Barbados every winter?
Load of rubbish, our attendances haven’t been this high since the premier league season I’d wager. The game if the working class is pricing out the working class

The club needs to get away from this ' only season ticket holders matter ' attitude. You're probably right about the cost if you get a season ticket but for me work commitments mean i would miss a lot of games so it's not worth forking out all that money in one go. I go when I can but when I have to pay almost £35 when the season ticket holder next to me is paying £19? Now there's talk of it going up even more. How can this be justified? That's a huge difference. There will come a point where people just think, no I'm not paying that! It’s not expensive if you get a seasons ticket, I know people live away and that but I think I pay £19 a match or something like that.
No one is saying that but we already pay one of the highest prices in the championship and more than a few premier league clubs, yet they still manage to compete without ripping off fans.I sit in the south stand, it’s full of young supporters, watching boro essentially is a hobby so if you really want to go then you will. People think they have a born right to cheap football.
Well said. That is the biggest problem here.Your arguing over fans footing the bill but not solving the problem.
The extortionate fees, wages and bonuses of players and agents.
It’s obscene what they get paid to play football when we have banks to drop beans off because some people can’t afford to eat.
I’m part of the problem of course because I go to a lot of games but it is obscene
You are wasting your time trying to discuss it with him, he's got his blinkers on and the club can do no wrong in his eyes.No one is saying that but we already pay one of the highest prices in the championship and more than a few premier league clubs, yet they still manage to compete without ripping off fans.
Most of the time the ground has thousands of empty seats so the pricing structure clearly doesn’t work
Plenty of other clubs manage to compete without ripping off their fansIt seems we want Gibbo to outspend all our rivals on transfers, whilst at the same time making tickets “affordable for all”
Should we ask the same of cinemas? “A fiver is plenty” campaign?
I’m sorry that’s your situation but that’s just life I’m afraid. Your reasoning is work commitments and not financial, many will be in this boat. By the reasoning of some on here if it was £19 for everyone then we could sell out every week and gibbo can finally take advantage of the 42,000 seater planning permission. The club needs to get away from this ' only season ticket holders matter ' attitude. We have had big crowds all seasonNo one is saying that but we already pay one of the highest prices in the championship and more than a few premier league clubs, yet they still manage to compete without ripping off fans.

Nobody is looking down on anybody, watching MFC isn’t free and comes at a cost, its entertainment at the end of the day and isn’t life or death if you don’t go.I don’t go too often, I go when I can afford to. I don’t expect anything for free and I’ve always loved the match.
I appreciate SG, although I certainly don’t think he’s a king. He’s made some whopping bad decisions over the years financially and ultimate it’s his choice to finance the club.
Of course I appreciate it, without it we possibly wouldn’t even be here. And definitely not competing for a place in the top flight more often than not.
My questions is how can you rationalise all this just because it’s alright for you lot?
‘That’s life. Not my problem attitude’
I can afford to eat without begging - doesn’t mean I look down at those who can’t and say ‘ah well, that’s life. Go to the politician if you want change. Save up and have a bite next week pal.’
Honestly it’s the attitude that is horrible. Hearts of stone the lot of yous.
We could have had bigger and there is a thread further down the page asking for a 30,000 crowd. We have had big crowds all season

You don’t say.Nobody is looking down on anybody, watching MFC isn’t free and comes at a cost, its entertainment at the end of the day and isn’t life or death if you don’t go.
Could have should have, the price is right for as long as people are willing to pay.We could have had bigger and there is a thread further down the page asking for a 30,000 crowd.
Not sure why you think I don’t care about those less fortunate than myself? You don’t know me. Football isn’t an essential it is a nice to have. You don’t say.
But you don’t care about those less fortunate.
All the arguments in the world you can come up with. You’re basically saying ‘ unlucky’.
If you’re so for a price increase why don’t you give Steve a ring a chuck a nice donation his way
