How do you have your beans and chips?

A - Beans on top of the chips
B - Beans alongside the chips put slightly touching
C - Beans away from the chips but on the same plate
D - Chips on the plate but beans in a separate small bowl

Always A for me, the chips have to soak up the bean juice fully.

I've absolutely, and obviously had beans with chips on many occasions (sausage, egg, chips and beans being one example). Don't think I've ever had just beans and chips before. I'd probably default more to beans on toast ... As is for breakfast, with grated cheese for lunch. Obviously.

C - When it comes to chips I can't have any liquid touching them, and sauces need to go in a separate pot for dipping. Beans are fine on the same plate but need to be separated by a breakwater (lincolnshire sausage and/or black pudding.)

Very similar to you, I have eaten beans with chips but wouldn't just have them two together and tend to eat beans with an all English breakfast. The last time I had beans with chips was in Ealing with an all English breakfast. I was more shocked that in London they would serve chips with a breakfast.

C if I am presenting the dish, but fully accept version B because I like breaking the dam and watching the imaginary villagers flood in bean juice/sauce.
