Bayer Leverkusen

This is so close for them now, I really hope they see it right through, will never ever be repeated this kind of achievement and I’m glad it’s a team like Leverkusen and not one of the so-called giants.

The final game in their season being a cup final against a 2nd tier team has the potential to be the funniest ending.

Hopefully they get something in the last two league matches and win the Europa League.

If Kaiserslautern won the cup, it would be a nice story in itself.

Lose the cup on penalties so I believe technically still an unbeaten season, but with a nice fairytale for Kaiserslautern too

Beating 10 man Bochum 2-0 at half time.

Surely another game unbeaten, they have 3 to go.

Only 1 league match left, then 1 Europa League final and 1 DFB-Pokal final.

50 unbeaten if they win this, which it looks like they will. Winning a treble unbeaten in all competitions would be mental wouldn't he, has that ever been done? Football Manager save scum type sh*t.

I know they were up against one of the weaker teams in the league who also played with 10 men for most of the game, but that was just like a training game for them.

Strong backups in every position and able to target their attacks up either flank, through the middle, fast breakaways and patient build ups. They're just brilliant at everything.

In the absence of Wirtz for most of last season I thought Diaby was their star man. They haven't missed him one bit this year.

Preston did it in the first ever league season in 1888-1889, but that was with only 22 league matches and 5 FA Cup matches.

I presume it could have been done elsewhere by teams that haven't qualified for continental competitions, but as far as I know there's never been a team to go unbeaten domestically and continental competitions whilst winning them all.

Al Alhy went unbeaten domestically in 2004-05 in Egypt, and won the CAF Champions League without defeat, but they were knocked out of the Egypt Cup round of 16 on penalties.
That's statistically counted as a draw, so you could say they went the full season unbeaten in all competitions, but they obviously didn't win every available trophy.

Unfortunately 3 or 4 of their star players will leave with the big clubs come calling.
Maybe not, if Alonso stays & looks to build - they'd be playing to win the biggest trophies - already on very good money..

I'm sure the win bonuses won't be lacking.. not as if Bayer are small fry & short of spare euros.. € 👍

2-1, great goal from Augsburg after some very sloppy play from Leverkusen.

Bit of nerves there now, still half an hour to go.

They should win the German Cup … the biggie is the final v Atalanta . Will be an incredible achievement. Imagine supporting them this season ? Not once would your weekend have been ruined !!

You know how fickle footy fans are. I bet the Leverkusen fans have started complaining at draws or poor performances now lol.
