Zach Hemming

It's the sort of nasty "old school" comment throwing a player under the bus that you'd expect from the likes of Neil Warnock, not a 44 year old manager.

Dieng made a worse error for us yesterday, and Carrick had the class to just call it an error and move on.
Similar to my comment about Beasant by Ian Porterfield in 1992. I recall it being seen as unprofessional back then

For the sake of his mental health it might be wise to recall him now and allow him to be our no.3 and loan or sell Glover.

Whilst I don't agree with the comments, coming back here to sit around doing nothing wouldn't be very good for him either. Orient will either keep picking him and he will play through it or promote their number 2 who can't be that good the fact they are loaning keepers in every season as their no 1 goalie. So after a while he would probably get back in. Then assess the situation for a potential recall at January and reloan to someone else.

Agree.

Football is essentially a tough old sport both on and off the pitch. The old phrase of character building springs to mind. If he does make it one day to our level or above, this experience will have benefitted him in some way. Hopefully his personality and self belief will see him through this tough spell. He has to experience the rough with the smooth I guess. He is not much younger than Engel who many on here feel it is ok to abuse in truth.

Quick check and their second choice keeper is a 26 year old with one full season in the National League as his no.1 experience, he played second fiddle to Brynn last year. Hemming is probably well ahead of him ability wise so perhaps Wellens is wrongly hoping a rocket comment will improve things, terrible management style.

Those clips don't make for great viewing! If he did that for Boro, he'd be getting worse pelters on here and most supporters would want him out of the team.
Does seem a bit slow to react and his decision making leaves a lot to be desired.
Hopefully he will improve if he keeps his place, but he's probably not got many lives left!

Just watched brief highlights from Saturday's game. Another 3-0 loss although no major errors on the goals, plus a couple of decent saves.

One absolute screamer, a couple where the defence got completely bypassed and left him exposed. He'll get plenty of practice to improve his form because it looks like they've got plenty of problems beyond their keeper.

As above none of Saturdays goals were down to him and he made some good saves. Tough life for a goale but he needed to step up from Scottish football and if he is any good he will come through it.

Let’s hope he can keep it up and become one of their best players then if that d1ck head manager is still in place in January, stick to fingers up to him, recall him and send him somewhere better.

Last 3 games apparently he's been brilliant, wonder if the manager will take credit for his performance
Problem is, whether he claims it publicly or not, the manager will be mentally chalking one up to his muscular (i.e., àrsehole) management style. Self validation is as natural as breathing to wànkers like him.

I think any credit for Zach’s improvement must firstly and rightly go to Zach himself. He went to a whole new environment and settling in can take longer for some. His early errors were largely confidence related and hopefully he has had support from family, friends and Boro as well as coaching from Orients team. Their manager is clearly an old school self protectionist.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he has had words with Sol too as he was there last season. Whatever the reasons, and it will be a combination, hopefully he feels more settled and can better focus on his game, it is great to see he has turned his start around and bodes well.
