A very fine kit; the absence of all the logos for the kit manufacturer, the league and the sponsors is so welcome. Modern football kits look like Formula 1 racing car drivers’ suits these days, less is more.

We used to wear the light blue shorts with this top sometimes prefer the black shorts, socks are good too

Ticker tape; that is THE classic second kit to me, with those socks and black shorts. The pale blue shorts and socks just didn’t go with the shirt anything like as well. I saw Boro play in that exact kit at home to York in the FA Cup 4th round in 1970 and it looked superb. Bring it back, I say. Permanently.

Best first kit was that from 1973-74, the first white band kit.

1996/97 - Home Kit

Although it didn't have the white stripe - it was different because of the way it weaved the name Boro down the side the kit and shots and the feel of the kit material was very classy and smooth on the skin, unlike most nylon kits.
