I'm a fan of Will Hay films, and it surprised me to see that he was born at 23, Durham Street, Stockton on Tees, I don't think we give him enough recognition. Is the house still standing? Is there a blue plaque on the wall of his old house?

Oddly there is a bit of Durham Street left but not number 23, the surviving houses run from 28 to 38 consecutively (i.e. 28, 29, 30...)
