Its that bluddy climb up out of Nenthead, which turns left at 1 in 7 right at the top, after a good stretch at 1 in 10. Its deceptive - especially as you go by the quarry and think youve reached the top! Then.....oh schitt! I was loaded with 120 kilos, including me, the bike and the panniers! The 1 in 10 down into Weardale is dangerous because there are some good drops, tight corners and uneven road surface!.
Stopped for a cake, warm an a wet at "The Chatterbox Cafe" in Wearhead!
