With the way demographics are going i.e. the huge drop in fertility in western countries I reckon in a few decades countries will be desperate for immigrants and be competing for them

My answer is not much sympathy because they don't need to do it, because they're perfectly safe where they are. They put themselves and their families in danger for no good reason.
Obviously if they get here, they should be treated decently and given asylum if it's justified.
