You get to change two things about football

I’d get shot of VAR for good. Forever. Kill it dead. Burn it then throw it in a chest full of lead weights and weld it shut, padlock it then sail it out to the Marianas trench and drop it in the drink.
Then nuke it, just to be sure.

I’d also bring in a maximum (low and reasonable) transfer budget/transfer fee and wage structure across the top leagues, so that every team could afford to compete on the same footing.

2 things I would like to get rid of:

1) diving, fake injury and other associated histrionics (edit - and stop calling it "simulation", it's "being a fanny")
2) Garth Crooks as a pundit

Wage cap absolutely. They'd still all be millionaires and earn more than the vast majority of pro athletes. The top players will be able to supplement it with sponsorship etc and you could introduce a prize money system, so players get bonuses for winning the league, cups etc.

You know, actually having to win something to justify some of their earnings rather than being paid an obscene amount because your agent has scared your club into thinking Barcelona might be sniffing.

Oh and agents should only be paid by the players they represent. If Julio Geordio wants to pay some slimy git 10% of his salary to negotiate on his behalf, fair enough. But should be illegal for clubs to making payments to agents.

I agree on agents. How many act in the best interest of the clubs who are forced to pay their fees? If they are representing the player the player should foot the bill.
If the PL clubs still insist on paying 10-15% on top of transfer fees perhaps they could do it in to a kitty to benefit the other leagues.

1.Premier League made 2 divisions with exactly linear prize money through all 40 clubs based on final position, no Parachute payments. Only 2 up from the 3rd tier. No more money for TV appearances either, all on final places only. Let the big boys make their money on sponsorships, commercial and fleecing the gullible hospitality types.
2. Wage cap and ticket price cap to ensure the grounds are full.

If I could have a third it would be the referees having the same power and respect as those in rugby. It's come to a thing when I have more time for the referee than the players.
FA Cup getting the 4th CL spot is a very good shout too.
I don't believe the "big 6" would cut to a Euro league when push comes to shove.
(Spurs by the way are bigger than Everton in my opinion; comfortably so. Leeds, Newcastle and Villa also have far more potential than Everton; again imho).

Ban the pre-match fair play handshake and players run out of the tunnel again kicking balls as high as possible.

bring back midfield/centre half psychopaths and give them yellow card immunity.

Flat rate budget limits for all teams in a division.

Champions League for champions only.

I'd like to get of the pre-match nonsense too; no balls on plinths, no parades with mascots, no insincere handshakes. Just each team running out in turn, one to boos, one to cheers, and Mogga kicking the ball high in the air.

The one positive of VAR was that it was supposed to be neutral as it would judge all sides equally and use technology to level the playing field.

of course then filling the VAR lab with the same old biased tossers that it was intended to replace to rule over these decisions killed this stone dead.

so I’d like to see 100% fair referee at games to give all sides an equal chance be they home or away as this just does not happen anymore in this country.
Can you quantify/qualify how this bias by tossers manifested itself?

I’d change the fact that Spurs are considered part of a “big 6” despite being nowhere near as successful as Everton or Aston Villa historically or in my lifetime or even Leicester just in the last 25 years. Have only won the league twice and not for 60 years.
Is that a bit of humour to lighten the current drab situation?!

To be fair, simulation isn’t “being a fanny”. It’s cheating.

I believe you’re thinking of “he was entitled to go down”.

1. People whinging about money in the game. It’s there just accept it.

2. The Away goal rule in European football. Think the games would be even better ( and most of the knock out games are already amazing) but feel without this rule they would potentially go up another level.

While I’m on it a few more :

relocating bogs to periphery of stadium with open brick walls and open air .

Only Old fashioned oxo drinks or tea for sale .

Own team idiot fan who shows you up in away pubs

Singing “ get yer t##s out for the lads “ to anyone remotely female walking past a stand

Singing “ Brucey Rioch’s red and white army “ in stereo repetitively booming across stadiums.

Players salaries and agents.

Salaries for players should be good but it's ridiculous that they amount to 70% and more of turnover.

As for agents. Their power is way too much and that has to be regulated.
