Steffan is not the best keeper at the club let alone the championship. Know idea why Wilder keeps spinning that for.

Right up there with Akpom might actually be a decent player if you opened your eyes. Mental that this half decent young kid was here all along and not one of our professional staff could see it.

Not saying Akpom is a world beater but to virtually want to give him away was as barmy as the Hoppe Forss situation.
 
I think the players are more suited to 4,2,3,1

Don't think the system is the issue, confidence is.
Whoever is in charge needs to try and get them believing in themselves again.

With Jones suspended we will struggle to have someone play the right wing back role effectively, so to me that says play 442 or 433

I assume Akpom not quite 100% fit and Lenihan still unfit.

Howson would be a bit deeper at times and McCree and Crooks could switch at times particluarly when attacking.

With Bola behind him Giles could have a bit more freedom to get forward when we have the ball.

McNair and Fry is a bit of a worry hence Howson support, but they are used to playing together and McNair did not play a full game on Saturday. Same for McGree and Giles, so start with them. McGree and Giles have some energy about them which is another reason to play them from the start.

I know it's not Gibsons current position, but I'd give him a go at RWB.

Sometimes the kids play with a confidence that we're lacking at the minute.

I think the most important thing on Wednesday is to get the crowd onside. Tell 5 players they are going to be taken off second half and to expend all their energy chasing the ball and getting stuck in. Set the tempo. Get the crowd excited rather than nervous. The confidence will come back, and they'll start playing like a proper team rather than waiting till we are three goals down and the pressure is off to do so.

You use the term confidence a lot and I agree up to a point but poor results for nigh on 8 months now isn’t just about confidence.

If it was a confidence issue then the win in the big derby would have eased most of that but it didn’t and nothing has really changed.

It’s not just confidence.

Well no it's not just confidence, things like tactics, man management, lead to a lack of confidence. But I think it's the most important, in life and in football, and I think this team is particularly affected. You can see it in their play. Warnock and wilder have commented on a lack of leaders at the club. And it's very important when you want to play a possession based attacking game.
