Yorkshire vs Sussex at Scarbados

It is beautiful here, sun shining and wind has even dropped a but at North marine Road.

Rumours are that Yorkshire might be looking to buy it with the sunrises money to ensure that it stays open as Scarborough are really struggling to maintain it.
I'm not surprised, its a big old ground for "club" cricket and club finances to run, with only a max of 10 days Championship and 2 metro bank cup games to bring in some bigger gate receipts, even at £33 a shot for casual attendees that still isnt a huge amount, and a chunk of the crowd will be Scarborough or Yorkshire members in the first place.

Edit to add: I do hope they continue to have County cricket there, There is a big following particularly for those "out East" that find getting to Headingley is a bit of faff.

Well Surrey have beaten Durham, which is good, but this partnership is irksome. Hopefully the overheads in the morning will help Yorks breakthru. 7 good balls or rash shots is what is needed.

Good to see George Hill back in the runs, his bowling has been great this season but he has struggled with the bat until today.

Not sure how much it helped but it poured down here in Scarborough overnight.with a few staying low this morning.

Also Milnes hias been superb so far, he is now being replaced by Sutherland as he needs looking after due to his dodgy back

Up to 6th now….might try to get to a couple in September when it resumes.
Hamps and Wuss heading for a draw, So Hamps will go above us on 129 pts (I think)

so we will be 12 pts clear of Durham in the 2nd relegation spot, one of 4 teams (us Essex Sussex Hamps) separated by 3 points!

Somerset (A) Sussex (A) Durham (H) to play in Sept so very much our own hands.

Should be in a position where worst case scenario we don’t need to win and a couple of weather draws against Sussex and Durham would keep us up.
