Yet another reason to love Neil Young.

Can’t believe Spotify allow him to continue the way he is.

The latest podcast with Jordan Peterson has them debating why people are called ‘black’ or ‘white’ when there are so many different shades. Rogan goes as far as saying you can only be black if you’re from the deepest, darkest parts of Africa where they don’t wear clothes.

$$$$$$$$$$$ is the answer TYT.

He is one of the most successful podcasters? on spotify, its all about money these days (see also FB, Twitter et al)

I recently sold almost all of my vinyl albums, having first checked that they are on Spotify if needed.

The' jewels in the crown' were 5 decades of Neil Young albums. Then he does this!

I suport him on this issue nonetheless. What's impressive is that Spotify complied with his demand even though he doesn't own his music any more. Must have good lawyers.

Almost - Triumph 2500PI
Also still got TREX Electric Warrior 8 Track. How technology progresses!
Nice. Back in those days I had to settle for an Escort Mk2 1.3L

Don't forget the fury dice, pine tree air freshener, go fast stripes and black pleather driving gloves with chequered flag on the knuckles
Only had furry seat covers and cut out the parcel shelf for my overly large speakers. ‘Heavy Horses’ at full volume made the chassis shake.
Simple pleasures.

He didn't actually say this though, yet again media spin to discredit and try and deplatform people with an alternative view.

That is pretty much word for word EXACTLY what he did say, I've seen the clip. Initially he talked about well I'm not white I'm a sort of tan colour and then he went on to describe POC of various shades of brown and said "you are only truly black if you’re from the deepest, darkest parts of Africa where they don’t wear clothes" and something about melanin. Now, I'm not a POC so it is not my place to say whether that is offensive or not. But a lot of people who are qualified to make that call are understandably labelling it racist or at best racist dogwhistling.

The old "alternative view" defence :ROFLMAO:

I wonder when some people are going to realise that ‘the alternative view’ can still be the wrong view (and more often than not, is.)
And often deliberately so, to spark clicks/anger/response and keep the protagonists relevant and in the limelight and being paid….see Peterson, JHB, Laurence Fox, Katie Hopkins, Peter Hitchins, Isabel Oakshott, Nigel Farage, Boris Trump, Donald Johnson, Steve Bannon, Toby Young etc.
Half of them don’t believe even half of what they say. They aren’t saying the things they do because they passionately believe it.

Yep, it's frustrating isn't it - basically used as a catchall for any untrue, defamatory or potentially illegal statement, but "free speech" and all that.

There's a through in almost all of those people you mention - they've had a previously "successful" career doing something else, only for that to end and the only possible avenue left to these vacuous ideologues is to spout insane beliefs for money.

Several points here Boro999. Firstly I agree that depriving people of a voice because they don’t agree with the current view of a particular topic is a problem. But that disagreement needs to be logical, coherent and defensible taking account the current data and facts. So, for me, it is fine to challenge how we interpret data and act upon it, but not to subvert that data to exploit the credulous and vulnerable. Secondly, what are you maintaining The DJ didn’t say, as there quite a bit of content above? Finally, if he didn’t say it, why has NY reacted as he did? All genuine questions.
