Wrexham/Channing Tatum advert

That’s brilliant. I read somewhere there annual sponsorship income was something like 6m a year or so ago. Huge shirt sponsor also.

The sooner these owners get bored and Wrexham go back to their natural place in the football pyramid the better. Sick of hearing about this "fairytale" whereby the team pays wages a league or two above their standing while amassing a bunch of Manchester United and Liverpool-supporting American fans. I know someone who is from Redcar who 'supports' Wrexham - get in the bin.

I'm with you on this one but I don't think it is going to happen.

The hype and Hollywood are here to stay.

I’m sure we took it really well when fans of bigger clubs were saying why is the Brazilian player of the year going to Middlesbrough and as if they can sign Ravenelli who do they think they are!!!

Quite right. I much prefer lower league clubs being indefinitely skint, gradually laying off more and more staff, scrapping academies to stay afloat until they eventually cease to be a football club altogether so the local community don't have a local team to support anymore.

Proper football

Its not a straight choice between existing as a vanity project for a Hollywood duo who gradually sell off shares to American venture capitalists, or going bust.

Many football clubs exist and support their local communities without becoming a Disney Plus TV show dancing like a performing monkey for some American soccer fans.

The benefits of what Reynolds and co. are doing are being felt throughout that entire area, investment outside of the club is at all time high and tourism is through the roof. Good luck to them! Not every football club has got a local millionaire owner happy to write off mounting debts, season after season...

The money that's invested in Wrexham surely trickles down to lower leagues, and the exposure the clubs that Wrexham play, and is shown in America surely is a good thing?

Yeah in the same way that we're benefiting from the Saudi's/Abu Dhabi owning Newcastle or Man City.

We kind of have benefited from Man City, we've had Agyemang, Hamilton and most notably Rogers in the last few years. Who's to say Hamilton and Agyemang might follow the same route, albeit taking abit longer to get going?

Those people would still exist if Man City didn't have mega billions. Its not like they're purposely developing them for the benefit of Middlesbrough FC

They wouldn't of been at City if they hadn't of been where they're at though? You think their Development academy would be where its at before they got the megabucks?

They'd likely have been at another club. They don't exist as footballers purely because City are owned by a Sheikh.
Their ownership has also helped push wages/transfer fees up to a level where our owner can't compete with Premier League clubs anymore like we could in the 90s and 2000s and we've spent 15 of the last 16 years in the Championship largely hoping for the odd scrap on loan or a permanent transfer with a massive sell on clause attached.
