Wow. Latest Hartlepool polling...

This thread is sad in a way so many delusional Starmerstans..

If labour lost this seat under Corbyn I'd imagine there would be a coup the morning after.

Freddie Sayers is a very intelligent man @r00fie1 he's trying to bring intelligent discourse back to the UK you should check out the unherd YouTube channel. Some people think on here think he's a far right looney because he allows for debate on what's happened this past year.

I am an observer here and did not vote for the Tories or UKIP in the last three general elections. I want a more levelling up of UK society and the UK economy, but there is a danger that the Labour Party can't recognise and accept its own barriers to winning and in "Red Wall" seats have left a lot of the middle ground to the Conservatives.

Some Labour posters on here have failed to recognise that Labour is gaining ground in the metroplitan cities, especially London. but losing it in the left behind regions. Most seats in London are Labour and its the wealthiest part of the UK.

Some posters have failed to recognise Hartlepool is a natural Labour seat. 14 straight Labour wins in a row. There maybe a hardcore of 50% non Labour voters, but they never win. To get 40% of the vote for one party is good going in elections with at least 3 major candidates and the Labour Party has done does this at nearly every election , bar the last one when it was still over 37%.

The Tories are promising jobs and increased real job opportunities this is highly attractive in areas of the country where people are concerned about finding a decent job like Teesside. In London people are more concerned about been able to buy a property or even rent a decent property, pollution, access to schools and other public services, rights for minorities, international issues, support for the arts.

The Tories have taken some middle ground by introducing the Living Wage and increasing it above inflation. Increasing the State Pension by above inflation, now running large public finance deficits to try and please everyone. Increasing public infrastructure projects now in left behind regions. These in the past would be seen as left wing policies. They are not a capitalist free market party to me, more centre-right pragmatists who need to be beaten at their own game.

The cuts have been clever and pretty stealth like cutting spending per pupil rather than cutting it overall, cutting further education, cutting disability benefits because the disabled are fairly invisible, cutting welfare benefits like unemployment benefit because again the unemployed generally don't fight back anymore, generally make it harder for the unemployed and disabled see the film I Daniel Blake for examples. Also increasing pension ages.

Many people see all leaders as pigs with big snouts looking after number 1 or in Jeremy Corbyn's case cranky with strange biases. For example Tony Blair was popular in the Polls but he had a number of faults and looked after Tony who has considerable personal wealth. A common phrase is in the pubs is "that they are all as bad as each other." when taking about major party leaders.

Labour has to move the party out of the major metropolitan areas and battle more on regeneration of the left behind areas, there is anger, resentment and a feeling of hopelessness at times coming through to me. Labour has almost lost Scotland (a former heartland) to the SNP and areas like the NE are starting to slip away. Starmer is very London based and the major Labour politicians seem to represent London, Birmingham, Manchester seats. If there were a SNP equivalent in England it would have taken a lot of English Labour seats.

Lets have a local income tax instead of council tax based on national property values, lets have reduced National Insurance in poorer areas, lets have more public investment in deindustralised areas like Middlehaven, reduced business rates on retail properties in economically depressed areas, relocation of public sector jobs - all for a fairer Britain where someone in Hartlepool matters as much as someone in Islington.

You're the joke pal 😁 You're a member of a Boro message board and you have never posted on a thread about the Boro.
You're just on here to force your political views down people's throats...plenty on here the same ✌️

And while you've begun your biography of me I've never given you a second thought.

You won't have come across me, I post on the Boro football threads and you never ever have....Doubt you've even been to Hartlepool either....😁

Never ever? This, coupled with the emojis and 'jokes' I can only assume you've had some sort of catastrophic brain injury. My sympathy with your loved ones.

That must also explain why you think you can police how people use this message board to the point of keeping checks on them.

Really nice post.... didn't take long to show your true colours 👎

Starmer is so pitifully bland and beige he doesn't appeal to anyone. it will be a hugely embarrassing loss for labour should they lose.
He appeals to me. Labour only has itself to blame, mainly under Corbyn. Britain is predominantly centrist not leftist, like it or not, it is true. Tories or Blairites is where the power lay. I am a Blairite, power is everything in politics. Look after the centre ground to change the future or you will get more tory governments, it is really quite simple.

Keep them coming, you're making yourself look really cool....

Thanks for the support pal, but I've never been one for fan service. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and I'm sure you'll lap it up.

Maybe one day soon I'll see you on the streets of Hartlepool, you'll be the gadgee berating those in red rosettes, cracking 'jokes', right?

Margaret Beckett etc 'lending' their vote to get Corbyn on the list has made them a million miles from a return to power
