At the start of the Carabao cup run, there will have been plenty of fans, myself included, saying concentrate on the league, without ever going as far as wanting a loss, but then look at where that has ended up.

Either of those results would indicate (well to me anyway) that we gave Villa a good game

Conceding just one goal against the team 2nd in the top tier of English football will be a monumental effort considering the mess our squad is in at the moment.

It reminds me of somebody who messaged in on BBC Tees before the West Brom match last month and said they'd be happy with a 1-0 defeat.

Was the most baffling statement I'd heard all year.

At least with the cup matches, you can justify it by wanting to avoid fixture build-up, it was just nonsense when it came to a league match.
