Would a continental manager be better suited to our model

Judging by the names linked so far, we just want someone who knows his place, won’t kick up a fuss about crap recruitment, and is just grateful to be back in a job.
True. But this sort of thing seems to work for other clubs. The last few appointments we’ve made (except Woodgate) have been along the lines of “highest profile manager we can realistically attract”, and that isn’t working either.

Our DoF/ European model seems to be somewhat of a halfway house. We seem to be in a muddle with it.

Currently we have bought players such as Forss, Hoppe and Daniels who in my opinion appear to be in keeping with such a model. At the same time Wilder was requesting donkeys like Connolly, Clarke and Steffen.

I think the DoF plan needs to be worked on, and I'm sure it will. A coach, whether he's European or from elsewhere has got to be fully committed to it. Wilder wasn't. He stated in his first few interviews that he was okay with a DoF, but I think as time went on he simply couldn't handle it.

I've just made up a guy. He's called Sergio Sausages. I want him to get the job. He'd be much better than the other guy I just made up - Henry Sandypuds.

At least he'd be coming with no expectations and no crystallised opinions of him. Might not go down well with us vegetarians though.

Blimey AB this is your first post for over 14 months. Where have you been?

Chaos mate. Firstly, I had to deal with England losing in the final of a major tournament, then the fallout from our poor start to the season under Warnock (who I was a big fan of as anyone who remembers my posts would know). Then I had another bairn, then there was omicron, and partygate, then work went mental for a few months, then I turned 40, then the Queen died, there was never a good time to make a comeback on here. Anyway, the new bairn is sleeping a bit better now, we have a new PM (who is doing a fine job :);)), a new King, and soon a new Boro manager, so I thought it was time to stick my beak in again.

Plus, I noticed that if I didn't post again soon I'd drop off the leaderboard altogether.:)

As they are more familiar with The DOF structure as well as a president/owner model.
Yes, In theory, from the point of view of accepting the structure, but you still need to be able to sign players to suit requirements/style of play, which is something we consistently fail at.

I am impressed you just slipped back in and nobody noticed ( but me). Some people on here do major flounce announcements when they take a break from this Board - you disappeared without trace. Anyway welcome back.
