Worldwide traffic movements by city to show 'lockdown'

Interesting set of graphs showing worldwide city traffic levels compared with 'normal'. Taipei and Stockholm stand out as being different to most places.

You can then type in 'Middlesbrough' to see what's happened here.

Traffic movement into and out of lockdown

Seriously though, interesting graphs. My friend over in Singapore has said the current lockdown is really strict. Bourne out by the fact traffic has practically dropped to zero there

Interesting that initially they didn't but, as you say, the last two weeks it's virtually zero.

What the heck happened in Newcastle towards the end of March?

I've put in a few places round the world that have odd spikes. I presume the method of collection is open oddities rather than it being a true figure.

Some Chinese ones are strange as they they show huge numbers in January that are presumably people traveling for Chinese New Year before the crisis was publicised.
