Words or phrases people say

'Not a problem' as a response when you thank someone. Usually it's when they have just done what they are paid to do and you were only being polite in thanking them.
 
I remember one from years ago as well 'let's look at the layers of the onion' WTF? Still makes me cringe. I used to keep a list behind my desk with the one's of the day, so when people were speaking to me they could see them, in the faint hope that they wouldn't use any of them.

I think that's called what we called Brent ( as in the office) bingo.
 
Use of the word technically when talking about football. It is meaningless. He is technically a better player, is the same as he is a better player. They are technically a very good side = they are a very good side.

I think it depends on the context but I've always assumed (and used) the phrase to mean "with reference to technique" as opposed to one player being physically or mentally better/worse than another.
