Woodgate first team coach !!

Do you think Mrs Carrick might’ve had an opinion on this? Maybe the new gaffer values her opinion. Perhaps he was thinking about the impact on his family, moving his kids out of school, possible commutes, distances, contracts, houses. There’s details, agents, fees, talks and more talks, interviews, questions and answers, more discussions.

Just because Wilder popped up the day after Warnock left doesn’t mean he was offered the job that morning and accepted it.

I don’t really see why people have an issue with the timing. They moan when we rush in and overpay, they moan when we and those involved take some time to make sure it’s right. Strangely, there never seems to be a sweet spot where these serial moaners and miserablists are appeased and positive.
I’ve always been overly positive on this board for years so not sure this really applies to me.

Nothing the club has done for the last couple of years makes a lot of sense so it’s very easy to be sceptical when something doesn’t add up.

It’s not necessarily that it took a long time to sort out, that’s not the issue I have. It’s that we’ve pretty much known for quite a while that Carrick was getting the job, they were sorting out the backroom staff and then bizarrely after 3 weeks we end up with Woodgate, forgive me for smelling bull**** from a club that has produced a lot of bull**** over the last few years.

Carrick and Woodgate will have my full backing, it’s those at the top that I have an issue with at the moment. I don’t even really have a problem with Woodgate either, he loves the club and I hope he does well, it’s the situation as a whole that smells off to me.

I'm going to put my feelings on the Woodgate appointment on hold until the third appointment is announced.

If it's Phelan or Meulensteen then that will do for me, but it certainly needs to be somebody with experience.

Not really aimed at you TBF, more than constant doom-mongers who post this inane, conspiratorial drivel on a daily basis.

Who will they chastise if we lose at Preston? This might be the first time an assistant manager has been the subject of “we want so and so out, say we want so and so out,” chants.

Let’s see what these lads can do. I think assuming they’ve run roughshod over Carrick and somehow forced him to hire Woodgate is actually disrespectful to Carrick. People just love a moan, don’t they. Any angle. Any time.

Woodgate has something like the 2nd worst win percentage out of any Boro manager EVER, excluding interims.

Why on earth we've brought this thick tw@t back who took us from 7th to a relegation scrap I do not know. And guess what, we've also just gone from a 7th placed finish to the relegation scrap AGAIN, so what the fcuk is the thought process behind putting JW in as assistant manager?

I like the bloke as a person and he obviously loves the club to bits, but as a coach, as far as I'm aware he's out of his depth being Carrick's right hand man.

I'm sure that is aimed at me and I answer it pretty easily.
Woodgate was taking this club into the third tier and was an appalling appointment.
I am absolutely certain that Michael Carrick did not propose this man and has been positioned.
I'm really disappointed Carrick has accepted this gift of first team coach and look forward to other worthless gifts in January.

Woodgate has been universally ridiculed since his disastrous time here. How can it possibly be a good appointment?
So no Viv, I am not positive about what the club has done.
I sincerely hope Carrick is superman - he is going to need to be. Good luck to the lad.
