Woman slashed at speakers corner

Its never been any different:
In the 50s it was Teddy boys.
60s - MODS and Rockers
70`s Skins
80`s Punks and Drunks.

In Victorian times it was no different.

Violence is not reported by National Political Media out of genuine concern: it creates fear amongst the population - which is a tested tool to divide and rule.

Definitely F***ing not!!

What is all this about then?

Are you into islamaphobia?
Is this your agenda here?
Are you a racist?
Very good.
It was a general question - anyone stumbling on the thread might have wondered what was going on - am sure everyone posting here would like to underline that they condemn violence but also condemn racism and islamophobia.

Pretty sure if they read the posts andreplies they could have got the general gist that someone had been stabbed at speakers corner.

There should have been no suggestion that I was islamophobic, racist or posting with some sort of agenda from you.

Honestly fuming!

Yeah stupid woman, it’s her own fault for getting slashed. The poor bloke must be gutted, bet he was desperate to keep the knife in his pocket.

So much for a free society in that wonderful crimeless metropolitan haven.
I agree with you. I'm not blaming her.

Of course I condemn Violence, Islamophobia, racism, hate crime of any sorts. I also condemn drug dealers, burglars, thieves, sexism, terrorism, knife crime, gun crime, sex crimes as I am pretty sure everyone writing on this thread does. I am shocked and disappointed the question was even thought necessary.

The problem for Rob and the Admins is that we have had posters in the past who will post stuff like this to provoke a reaction. Oddly they all seem to post stories about Islamic fundamentalism. They dance on the fence shouting look at how terrible this is. This can often lead to other posters, in a way understandably, getting angry and upset posting stuff that gets them banned.

I think the question needs to be asked and the people who post this should think about where they found out about this story, the source (as pointed out this source is of dubious motivation) and why you think it needs to be posted. If you can honestly answer those questions and think it is a valid topic for discussion then post away. But if your motivation is "this makes me really angry and I think it will make other people angry" you need to think twice about posting it. Especially since the narrative surrounding the incident is unproven.

I sense no islamaphobia or racism in this thread. As pointed out, the attacker is still out there so we don’t know the motive. I hope the attacker is arrested and put away for a very long time. I wish the victim a swift recovery.

I sense no islamaphobia
well this is in the OP
Doesn’t your God have the power to do his own condemnation.?
And of course the implication of the victim wearing a Charlie Hebdo tshirt is that it may have "provoked" the attack from someone with Islamic Extremist thoughts. Yet as you point out, the attacker has not been caught. Did he even see the shirt or was it an attack on the victim because of gender or simply "mental illness" (this is usually the media go to excuse for white male spree killers it seems not to apply to other demographics)?

The question should be asked internally by anyone thinking of posting such links. The agenda is "am I being used to spread hate"?

Think on.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to assume it is a religiously motivated attack. Just as it would be perfectly reasonable to think should a bunch of football hooligans kick the **** out of a black kid that it would be a racially motivated attack. I'm an adult rather than a child so I'm aware that my presumptions may be incorrect and based on prejudice and I tailor my behaviour accordingly.

Such clumsy and heavy handed moderating does no one any favours. I think you're far more likely to send someone into the embrace of the dark side that way.

Im sorry, did I not make my point clearly,I see religious extremism as a mental illness, this attack could quite easily be christian on christian.

OK Apologies.
I was getting uncomfortable with the way this thread was coming across.
I was ham-fisted in my approach.
I probably should have waited til I came back from the shops as well so there wasn't such a long radio silence at this end.

Is it OK to say almost all religion for what ever good intentions almost always propagates division. I long for the day when this country is far far less religious.

silly comment, surely the very place you would expect to see someone wearing a Charlie Hebdo T-Shirt would be at speakers corner.
It's an interesting one this ; was the woman wearing a Charlie Hebdo t-shirt because she likes the magazine so much, or was the real reason to offend people of a certain faith?

There's sometimes a fine line between free speech and actions driven by hate.

On other words not promoting your given subject, rather than attacking someone else's.

It appears the woman is a muslim apostate, Now some kind of Christian Evangelist
Ignoring all thats gone before I return to my original point about religious nutters.
On either ( or All) sides. Cant your gods sort this out themselves why do you feel they need your help, they're Gods arn't they?
