I know we have one coming up in Stewart Park and it only runs for one weekend, but some of the other ones ive seen (charging in the region of £20) don't even look like being worth a fiver to walk around

The latest one in Peasholm Park has taken a battering here ... (cant see the story on the local paper's website yet)

To think last week Lumiere was a free event, Sunderland Illuminations was only £3 in Mowbray Park recently. The one in Newcastle's Leazes Park is charging just short of £20 a head. Surely these events won't be around in the long term?

"The Tree Walk, or Tree Walk Wonderland as it was also known, opened in 1953, and became an iconic attraction in the town before finally closing in 1990"

I've got so many wonderful memories of this - magical when I was a kid

Same here, sad to read they were going to bring it back but decided against it.

North Bay redevelopment promised alot but has resulted in very little. Holiday apartments and a water park which has cost the local council big time it would appear.

The Aglow one in bishop is 25 quid. It's only right fo4 the time taking to plan set up pu5 on the security etc its only right they charge something

Stewart Park is 14.50. that is outrageous. Then food at a tenner. I literally give up on this kind of thing now.

1.5.miles can't see many kids being happy to walk that far to see some lights

Thats from the cora to the blue bell and half way back

The Sunderland one was really good - well worth the money and we'll be going back in future years.

Agree with this. We are doing BP this year and we do Christmas at kew every year. It's really spectacular. So well done
You will love Blenheim. We stayed overnight at The Feathers Hotel in Woodstock from where you can walk to the Palace via the side road in the Town. Don’t miss going into the House as well as they decorate up the Palace. Last year it was The Snow Queen. Think this year it’s Sleeping Beauty.IMG_0531.jpeg
