Wingy earning glowing reviews at Rotherham

I’m pleased for the lad. Panned by any number of posters on here it seems regular game time has allowed him to flourish.

Don’t know what the future holds but I for one wish him well.
Completely agree, the lads undoubtedly got talent and the type of player that definitely needs a run of games to get up to speed. Was our main goal threat not so long ago...

He hasn't had the spark coached out of him like so many identikit midfielders in the champo & PL, downside for him there is that he struggles to fit a system and cover runners and plug gaps as it's not second nature.

Wish him all the best.

It amazes me when he scores 7 goals in 40 games (non penalties and no tap ins) for us last season and people say so what he's still lower league. Then the same posters go on and on about non scoring forwards at the club.

Ok he does allow the opposition to play but play him with defence orientated midfielders like Howson and Morsy who do alot of useful donkey work.

And its not like goalscoring midfielders are ten-a-penny is it?

he has lower league technique and tactical knowledge and probably physicality too, he just happens to have a premier league quality shot. He's played what about 8 games for them, we've seen a lot more than that and know he can have little purple where he plays above his ability level, but we know already he isn't a top half championship midfielder.

Is that the same Rotherham that took us to the cleaners at the Riverside?
I swallow doesn't make a summer. They are a relegation threatened side and over the course of the last 20 years have been a league one and championship relegation side. Without meaning to be condescending, for a team like rotherham it doesn't take a lot to be one of their more talented technical players of recent years.

He's more than decent enough to forge a decent career in the champo or leagues 1 or 2.

I think he will move in the summer. I think he's got a year left. I imagine a permanent move to Rotherham could be on the cards if he keeps impressing.

I have no malace for the lad. He's 'living the dream' coming from a bath factory to being on maybe 5k-10k a week. I think he's better going out and playing 30 games somewhere.

Just proves than you can come from none league and make a few quid👍

I don't think anybody has any malice for him, just pointing out that at this stage of his career he is not a top level championship player, and given Boro's hopes for the future, he is certainly not Premier League standard.

As for being on 5 - 10k a week. Give your head a shake man.
Do you really believe that a squad player who signed a new contract in 2018 will be on that amount of wages. You are talking half a million pounds a year!

Good luck to him at whichever club he ends up at next season. I have nothing against other than that he isn’t good enough if we are aiming to progress up-over.
