They’re giving a refund. You just have to enter the ballot again. You’d think they’d want to hold onto the money for a year. I’d be happy with that.
This is the email I received -
The All England Lawn Tennis Club has announced the decision to cancel The Championships Wimbledon, 2020, due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Consequently, your tickets allocated for the event through LTA 2020 Ballots are now void and we are extremely sorry that you will not be able to attend SW19 this summer. However, we trust you will understand why this important decision to cancel the event was made.
Will I receive a refund?
We will process a full face value refund for all ticket holders who have been allocated a ticket through the LTA Ballots, a task we aim to complete by the end of April. The refund will be automatically made to the card that was used for payment, so you do not need to take any action. You will receive an email notification on the date the refund is processed by the LTA but be aware that your card issuer may take 3 – 5 working days to credit funds to your account.
Can my tickets be rolled over to 2021?
As the 2020 LTA Ballots were only partially complete, unfortunately, any tickets allocated to date cannot be rolled over to next year. New ballots will take place for The Championships 2021 – we ask for your understanding of the need to ensure this process is fair for all members at that time.
