William Koloko

Mines just a list of individual players. So by mine currently there's been 953 players who have pulled on a Boro shirt in a competitive match since our first league game in 1899.

Erimus may correct me, but I think his list counts the number of times a player has been at the club, so Juninho will be marked down 3 times, Pears twice, Mendieta twice etc.

Thats right Shaun, the 1st player i didnt register twice was striker Andy Wilson
He played for us leading up to WW1, went to fight, after the war & with a permanently injured right hand he stayed in scotland playing football for a couple of teams, Middlesbrough still held his registration & brought him back to play for us, halfway through 1922-23 he signed for Chelsea, both teams were relegated from the 1st division with Andy Wilson top scorer for Boro & Chelsea

Saying that @shaun71 if the club did it they would most likely follow your pattern, dont think thete is a right way to do this really

I just like to see how many gamws a player played for the Boro, if over 2 spells, then my would show 2, 3 spells

Also seeing how many playets returned to the club after playing for other teams

Interesting comment above on who will be the 1000th player, should it be recognised within the club?

Exactly mate. There is no right way. Technically theres all the players who played for us in the FA Cup between 1882 and 1899 too which arent added too

Itll be recognised when the 1000th player arrives, which will probably be in 2 or 3 years time

George Reid the 100th registered player & 1st Boro player to score a hat trick at Ayresome Park, 07/10/1905 v Bury

Cochrane is 497 for me, Billy Woof is 500. We'll have to compare lists! I thought he would be a higher number if you count loanees more than once
We should be similar Shaun up to when loaned players & returned players start to change our numbers, Stephen Pears was our 1st loanee, we had a couple of players returning to the Boro before Jimmy Cochrane became the 500th registered player, for example Eddie Holliday left in 1962 & returned in 1963 for one season

Ref: registering players/squad make up - Is it different for the FAC games against those registered for the League games?
