William Koloko

Its absolutely crazy managers like karanka, pulis and warnock wont put young lads in. Theres younger players playing up and down the country in every league in most teams. We have an outstanding academy and these lads are constantly overlooked for slow, plodding journeyman who are shoehorned into an unnatural position.
As someone says most of these lads are 20+ they need game time. Sink or swim!

We’ve already seen Jones hasn’t got a defensive side.
Have "we"? When I've watched him he has worked back diligently and helped his fullback defensively and shown good tactical awareness and thinking. He's a bit lacking in stature and physique to play LB (IMO) but could definitely do a job at LWB.

I don't even see the point in having him on the bench if you won't risk him against the worst side in the league.

One fit defender and McNair, surely you've got to give Kokolo a chance in this match if you're ever going to, he's 21 not 17.
I’m looking forward to seeing the team. For me this is Warnock last chance to get it right. Playing Jones early in the season worked so hopefully a couple of young ones will get there chance. I fear I will be wrong and we see square pegs in round holes but surely today should be for people to make a name for themselves against a team struggling more than we are.
let’s trust in the youth academy if we don’t it’s a pointless system

Probably the choice of pitching hungry young ones in or inconsistent journeyman has the legs of having one of those vote thingy things throwing in at the top of a thread .
I'd do it but don't know how to . Maybe the boss may come across it and get a nudge from us

I disagree, I think he is tactically unaware in a defensive position, trying to play the ball out of defence with close passing in dangerous areas when the ball needs to be cleared.

Why would he play an orthodox left back at left back when he can play a winger at wing back instead?

Does the youth team not have any defenders in it apart from Kokolo? I read this morning we'll be naming six subs again. Why? It's crackers. Bruce Rioch used the youth team and it never did him any harm, did it.

No, that is plainly what he has been coached to do at the academy. That is how you should play, hoofing it into the stand or simply up the field is sometimes required but should not be the first thought of a modern professional footballer.
I agree with you, but it's the first thought of the current manager.

I'm hoping Koloko gets his chance today. Makes sense playing a left back as left back. Otherwise Siliki also has experience in this position.

However I'm fully expecting Warnock to prefer experienced players out-of-position. I.e. Crooks as center back.

Howson—Ikpeazu—Crooks——Siliki
Tavernier—McNair—Bamba—Payero

looks about right

Those 18 have all been involved with a matchday squad and are meant to be available as far as I know, so if he's naming 6 on the bench there must be another injury
Then there's the likes of Sivi, so it'll be annoying for me if he again doesn't put a youngster or 2 on the bench to give them experience rather than only name 6
